Sunpine chooses Pöyry for the construction of a new factory
In April, it was announced that SunPine would invest SEK 250 million in a new factory. Pöyry has now been chosen as a partner.
– We are very pleased to take the next step in our development together with Pöyry, says Magnus Edin, CEO of SunPine.
The new factory is planned to be commissioned in 2020 and will be built on SunPine's factory site on Haraholmen in Piteå. The main focus of the investment is to increase the production capacity of tall oil diesel by 50 percent. And now it is clear that Pöyry will be the partner in the project.
– We are facing an interesting future. Now, together with Pöyry, we can realize SunPine's planned biorefinery. Pöyry will complement us as a partner in this work and we look forward to an interesting and rewarding project, says Ulrika Hagman, project manager for investments at SunPine.
– With increased capacity, we can further consolidate SunPine's position as a world-leading, sustainable biorefinery with green products, states Magnus Edin, CEO, SunPine.
Pöyry is an international consulting and engineering company working within energy, infrastructure and industry. Their assignment for SunPine includes project management, procurement and construction.
– Pöyry is proud to be able to contribute to the investment in the green economy. Our long-standing collaboration with SunPine and deep knowledge of bio-based solutions will lead to the success of this project. Our strong safety performance ensures that the implementation of the second line can take place while the first line is in production. This assignment further strengthens Pöyry's position as a global supplier of bio-based solutions, says Jonny Stridh, CEO Industry Business Group, Pöyry Sweden.
