THE FOSSIL-FREE ALTERNATIVE. Sunpine's bio-oil can be used in a number of industrial processes, not least in mining and steel production where reducing fossil fuel dependence is an increasingly high priority. At Sunpine, we use our own bio-oil in the production process, which contributes to our production being almost fossil-free. We also supply bio-oil to many of our raw material suppliers, thereby contributing to reducing fossil fuel dependence in our value chain.

District heating to Haraholmen.
Sunpine's production process generates waste heat. This waste heat is converted into district heating and distributed to nearby industries on Haraholmen. In 2024, Sunpine delivered 2,075,000 kWh of district heating.

Bio-oil
Our bio-oil is a fossil-free heating oil for boilers and heating plants, and can replace fossil oils in Sweden's district heating networks.
Alpha-pinene
Alpha-pinene is used in the production of fragrance components for perfumes and cleaning products – and as a chemical building block in a range of industrial products, such as solvents.
Rosin
Sunpine's rosin is an important ingredient in ink and paint – and can also replace fossil oils in a variety of manufacturing processes.
