Bio-oil

Our bio-oil is a fossil-free heating oil for boilers and heating plants, and can replace fossil oils in Sweden's district heating networks.

THE FOSSIL-FREE ALTERNATIVE. Sunpine's bio-oil can be used in a number of industrial processes, not least in mining and steel production where reducing fossil fuel dependence is an increasingly high priority. At Sunpine, we use our own bio-oil in the production process, which contributes to our production being almost fossil-free. We also supply bio-oil to many of our raw material suppliers, thereby contributing to reducing fossil fuel dependence in our value chain.

For a more sustainable industry

Heat to Haraholmen.

Sunpine’s production process generates excess heat. This excess heat is delivered to PiteEnergi and then distributed as district heating to nearby industries and facilities in Haraholmen. There are approximately 2.5 kilometres of district heating pipes at Haraholmen, and during 2025 Sunpine supplied the equivalent of 1,770,970 kWh of district heating to PiteEnergi.
