The benefits
ONE OF THE HIGHEST REDUCTION VALUES ON THE MARKET. According to current regulations, Sunpine's Raw Tall Diesel has a carbon dioxide reduction value of up to 99 percent.
GOOD TRACEABILITY. Our Raw Tall Oil Diesel is certified according to ISCC, which verifies sustainability, traceability and greenhouse gas reductions in the biofuel supply chain. This makes it easier for our customers to gain visibility into their own supply chains.
DOES NOT AFFECT FOOD PRODUCTION OR LAND USE. The production of Crude Tall Oil does not affect global food chains, as our crude tall oil is a residual product from the pulp industry that would otherwise be wasted or burned.
ADVANCED BIOFUEL. Sunpines Raw Tall Diesel is classified as an Advanced Biofuel under the EU's RED II directive. In many countries, the carbon dioxide reduction achieved with Raw Tall Diesel-based HVO can therefore be double-counted.
BETTER YIELD. Sunpine's Raw Tall Diesel has a better yield than other comparable biofuel feedstocks. In concrete terms, this means that our customers get between four and twelve percent more biofuel in their production process when they use our Raw Tall Diesel.
REDUCED HYDROGEN NEED. Raw tall oil diesel requires up to 40 percent less added hydrogen in the refining process to biofuel compared to vegetable oils and animal fats. In cases where our customers obtain their hydrogen from natural gas, this means both lower purchasing costs for natural gas and a reduced climate footprint.
HIGH AND CONSISTENT PURITY. Our Raw Tall Diesel is an already refined and distilled product with very low phosphorus and metal levels. The impurity is below the detection limit of 10 ppm. This means that the Raw Tall Diesel does not need to be purified in a first process step and that our customers can minimize their production stops linked to, for example, cleaning and catalyst replacements.
LARGE PRODUCTION CAPACITY. Sunpine operates the world's largest plant for the production of crude tall oil and has the capacity to produce approximately 200,000 tons of crude tall oil each year for customers around Europe.
SAFE DELIVERY PATHS. We deliver our raw tall oil diesel directly from northern Sweden without passing through logistical bottlenecks or trouble spots.
HIGH CETANTAL. Raw tall diesel has a high cetane number compared to fossil diesel, which affects the fuel's ignition readiness. The vehicle simply starts more easily with Raw tall diesel-based HVO in the tank.
RIGHT VISCOSITY. The viscosity of a fuel is important for diesel engines. The viscosity and lubricity of crude tall oil diesel fuel promotes continued engine health.
GOOD COOLING PROPERTIES. Thanks to its well-balanced molecular composition, our Raw Tall Diesel has good cold properties compared to other biofuel raw materials.
HIGH ENERGY DENSITY. Raw tall oil diesel-based HVO has a high energy density compared to other biofuels. Higher density results in a more energy-rich product and better fuel economy in the end product.
