The technical director becomes acting CEO

Peter Drugge, SunPine's Chief Technical Officer, will now become acting CEO of SunPine.

Magnus Edin will leave his role as CEO of SunPine after seven years and will start as CEO of Lindbäcks Bygg on January 15. He will be replaced by current Technical Director Peter Drugge as acting CEO of SunPine.

How does it feel to take on the role of acting CEO of SunPine?

– It's a trust to manage, of course, it's a fantastic company.

For those who don't know you, what did you do before SunPine?

– I have worked in the automotive industry at Gestamp Hardtech in various management positions and as CEO for three and a half years. Since 2016 I have been employed at SunPine as technical manager, but before that I started working on projects at SunPine already in May 2015. So I know the company well.

What will be your main focus going forward?

– It is to ensure that the investment continues and supports the project. And that the management team can handle the important work that needs to be done so that everything falls into place in a good way. The new CEO who then takes office will have a good start when he is in place. I am completely confident that we will get the job done.

You are inaugurating a new office and have built a new laboratory, and next to the existing factory you are now building a new second factory... investments of over 400 million are now taking place... an expansive time to step into the new role...

– I feel safe because we have permits in place and we have a very competent organization from the management team to our various departments. 

You will also be recruiting, there will be about ten new employees… electricians, mechanics, process operators and engineers. For those who may be curious, why should you apply for employment at SunPine?

– We are a fantastic company, I think. We are a young company in expansion and we have a genuine green profile. We contribute every day with our work to actively reduce carbon dioxide emissions. What we do is a contribution to us achieving the environmental goals we have for the future.
