Sunpine builds new office and lab

In April, news broke of the 250 million SEK investment in a new second factory. Now the office property is also being expanded to accommodate a larger SunPine.

– Piteå Näringslivsfastigheter is building a whole new floor for us, and an expansion also towards the factory, says Magnus Edin, CEO, SunPine.

The new construction is being carried out in collaboration with Piteå Näringslivsfastigheter AB, PNF, and is scheduled to start in August this year. The project is a major expansion that follows as a natural sub-project in SunPine's expansive future plans, where the investment in building a second factory was presented in April this year.

Magnus Edin, CEO, SunPine:

– We are very satisfied with the collaboration with PNF over the years, so PNF is building and we are renting. We are already cramped as it is, but we wanted to wait until the new investment in the new factory and do everything in one go.

The new construction involves a completely new floor with approximately 270 square meters of offices, 100 square meters of conference rooms, 80 square meters of wet areas and an expansion of the R&D laboratory from 100 square meters to 135. A total of approximately 560 new square meters.

David Wimander, CEO, PNF:

– In June we plan to issue an inquiry and we hope to be able to start construction in August. It is fun for us at PNF to be able to participate in enabling Sunpine's expansion. And to consolidate Haraholmen as a strong development site for innovative industry.

Move-in is planned for summer 2019.
