We supply heat to our neighbours

Our entire operation is based on thorough sustainable thinking, from our raw material, which is a residual product from Kraft pulp mills, to our own residual product, excess heat – turned into district heating by Piteå Energi.

Our industrial plant is fundamentally energy efficient by design, and the manufacturing process requires both heating and cooling. The cooling system generates excess hot water, which is used for district heating. Our district heating is used partly in our own plant and also in other major industrial premises in the region through the district heating system.

SunPine supplies around 1,690,000 kWh of district heating annually, which corresponds to 75 villas.
