SunPine continues to choose the ladies – proud sponsor of Pite Elit

Piteå IF women, Luleå Hockey/MSSK – and Pite Elit. SunPine has long made the conscious choice to sponsor women at the elite level. Now they are also stepping in as a major sponsor for the red-hot ski ladies. 

After having their eyes on each other for a long time, SunPine is now stepping in as a major sponsor for the ladies in Pite Elit. The agreement is a natural part of SunPine's conscious sponsorship strategy where they already support both Piteå IF dam and Luleå Hockey/MSSK.

– It feels very obvious and fun that we are investing in the ski ladies. They have an exciting time ahead of them and we are happy to be part of that journey, says David Öquist, CEO at SunPine.

International attention

Back in 2018, SunPine attracted national attention when they chose to match UEFA's Champions League contribution to the Swedish women's football team Piteå IF. By donating 250,000 kronor, they wanted to give the team a chance to play in Europe's biggest tournament while also encouraging other companies to sponsor consciously.

A few years later, SunPine chose to sign a new agreement with Luleå Hockey/MSSK.

– The only way to improve the conditions for women's players is for those of us who can to increase our sponsorship, said Johan Torgerstad, HR manager at SunPine, at the time.

SunPine has previously supported the young ski talents Lisa Eriksson, Olivia Alm and Sofia Henriksson - but is now taking the next step together with Pite Elit to create local conditions for continued development in fierce competition with the world elite.

– We are proud to be able to contribute to ensuring that the ladies have the best possible conditions to develop as cross-country skiers. We are also impressed by Pite Elit's sustainable leadership, which goes hand in hand with our thoughts on future sustainability, says David Öquist, CEO of SunPine.
